Vatsal Shah Architects is a young, dynamic, creative firm founded by Architect Vatsal Shah in 2001, in Ahmedabad, India, after nearly four years experience in some of the topmost architectural practices in India.
A Xavierite and Alumni of C.E.P.T. (Center for Environmental Planning and Technology), Ahmedabad, Vatsal Shah has received two gold-medals, one from CEPT and another from Gujarat Institute of Civil Engineers & Architects, as best graduating student. He has also studied additionally at RMIT (Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology) for a year. When not designing, Vatsal pursues writing poems and short stories, travelling, photography and meaningful theatre.
He is joined by Ms. Sapana Shah who is an Interior Designer (IITC A’bad). Sapana was pursuing her LLB, when she felt to give in to her childhood desire to be an interior designer and switched to it. Her painstaking efforts to learn and master the craft paid off and she gives a fresh approach and innate charm to each project.
This practice, nearly two decades old does more of Interior Design Projects along with Architectural work. They have designed a wide range of diverse projects from numerous individual bungalows, weekend villas, apartments, private and corporate offices, hospitals, banks, community halls, schools, banquets and hotels.
Vatsal Shah Architects believe in unusual designs which are off the beaten track and are not repetitive or copied from catalogues. Their designs are not about what is ‘in’ and what’s not, or the latest fashion, but more about their clients, their dreams, aspirations, what they love and what creates a meaningful environment for them, while fulfilling their requirements. The practice also believes in timely completion of their projects within the client’s budget.
The practice has gained an eminent name amongst other Architectural/Interior Designing practices in Ahmedabad. They have also designed projects in Banswara, Jaipur, Daltonganj (Jharkhand), Mumbai and London (UK).
